Advanced Product Features • Transfers large or small messages with file attachments of almost
any type or size. • Serves as a powerful document transport backbone. • Supports thousands of messaging clients. • Enables a system administrator to manage hundreds of servers on
different platforms from a central or remote PC. • Can be monitored via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
Compatible with many third-party management centers. • Provides connectivity with X.400 public messaging networks
including Internet and most value-added networks. • Works over X.25, and dial-up lines or the Internet. • Optionally uses X.500 directories, such as CriticalPath Directory Server
(CDS), to access routing information or distribution lists. • Works with other CriticalPath products to provide versatile client-server
linking and interoperability between various LAN-based e-mail packages. • Provides special features for telecom service providers (ADMDs) and
other large users. • Available on most industry standard platforms and operating systems. ISOPLEX: The Hub of a Business Communication Backbone Based on ISOPLEX’s flexible, high performance architecture, ISOPLEX is designed to handle the high throughput requirements of major corporate and government organizations, as well as public service carriers. By combining multi-protocol message routing with a powerful message store and wide area communication services, ISOPLEX can operate as the key backbone server for departments, divisions, and global enterprises. ISOPLEX provides an X.400 Message Transfer Agent and an optional Message Store. Versatile and easy-to-use, ISOPLEX offers the following key features: • Ability to transfer large messages containing file attachments of almost
any type or size. • Guaranteed delivery for use as a mission-critical business application. • Document transport within and beyond the boundaries of an enterprise
network. • Administration of large ISOPLEX server networks from a central or
remote PC using CriticalPath innovative Management Center. • Direct client-server linking through CriticalPath’s optional X.400 P7
Message Store that can support thousands of users across LAN and dial-up connections, and wireless systems via X.445 (APS) and modem
protocols. • Direct interoperability through optional CriticalPath’s ISOGAT Plus gateways to LAN-based e-mail packages, such as Lotus Notes and
cc:Mail, Microsoft Mail, SMTP including Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME), etc. • Interoperability and connectivity with most public messaging networks
(ADMDs) and commercial message servers, including Microsoft Exchange and CriticalPath Messaging Servers. • Support for X.500 directories (such as CriticalPath Directory Server)
allows messages to be addressed to recipients by specifying either the
DN or the O/R address, or distribution lists residing in the directory
(created/managed from the Management Center). Distribution List support comes with expansion recursion detection, permissions checks
and choice of delivery and non-delivery report recipients. • Variety of transport connectivity options, including TCP/IP (RFC1006),
X.25 (including PAD), and X.445 (APS). • An SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol – RFC 1157) agent
allows ISOPLEX to be monitored by standard SNMP managers. It features support for the standard MADMAN MIB (RFC 1565, RFC 1566). • Configuration of document format conversion utilities (from the Management Center). Accounting Module The optional Accounting Module provides a detailed and real time log of all messages passing through the ISOPLEX server, according to a user-defined format. These details include cost-relevant data so that storage, processing, and communications costs can be charged back to individual users or subscribing MTAs. Closed User Group Module This optional module enables system administrators to reduce unauthorized use and unnecessary expenses. The Closed User Group Module lets the administrator specify which users can send messages through ISOPLEX and to whom, and set parameters for transmission time, priority, and message size. The same restrictions can be set for receiving messages.
