SafeGuard Sign&Crypt, SafeGuard Advanced Security, SafeGuard LanCrypt, SafeGuard VPN) uses the advances of the CardMan card readers.

The product With the CardMan card reader product family you can connect any card to a PC or a notebook. The following software interfaces are available: PC/SC, CT-API and the CardMan API product of Ultimaco. The Cardman product family is compatible with the Home Banking Interface (HBCI). The CardMan API makes possible for the system integrators a simple way to implement the CardMan card readers in simple applications. The CardMan card readers are the first on the world, which has Microsoft PC/SC certification and are listed in the hardware compatibility list of Microsoft (Hardware Compatibility List, HCL). Over this they can use the „Designed for Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT 4.0/Windows 2000” logo. The CardMan card readers are accordance with the German digital signature law (including the web based transactions too). All CardMan card readers are in accordance with the ISO 7816 standard. The scope The CardMan card readers have a secure capacity in: PC security, Internet security, ebussines, home banking, credit card transactions, accessibility checking, GSM applications and PKI (open key infrastructure). These are current accessible versions of the CardMan card readers: • Desktop (1000/2000) • PCMCIA (4000) • Keyboard (5000) • Dongle (6000)
The CardMan Dongle card reader is a portable, 60 mm mini-reader, with USB terminal on a side, SIM card terminal (ISO 7816-ID000 card) on other side. This is an ideal product in the card based applications, like downloading a GSM applications.
